Product Information Management (PIM) systems have been around for a long time but we do see a trend of increased use in the mid market.
The trend to have your products visible via more and more online marketplaces next to your own eCommerce site fuels the need to have product information stored on a centralised PIM platform.
As integrators we see this trend confirmed in an increase of integration projects where PIM-systems like Akeneo need to be coupled to eCommerce platforms like BigCommerce, Magento Association and CloudSuite and all kinds of ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft). Also feeds to marketplaces (direct or via ChannelEngine) are key for many of our customers.
If you know of a PIM solution that is easy to integrate with while still being flexible enough to meet the customer demands , then do let us know .. but be aware .. we set the bar high, not every API is a good API.
