Snowflake has announced an important update that could impact the way your systems connect and run smoothly. By November 2025, Snowflake will no longer support Basic Authentication, the simple username and password method.
That means if your integrations or scripts are still relying on this method, they will stop working unless updated.
What’s changing
Between April 2025 and November 2025, Snowflake will gradually block single-factor authentication using only a username and password. Depending on your setup, this change may take effect earlier for some accounts.
To keep your data connections running without interruption, all Snowflake connections need to migrate from Basic Authentication to Key-Pair Authentication.
Why this matters
- Continuity – Your ERP, CRM, and other connected systems won’t face unexpected downtime.
- Security – Key-Pair authentication is more secure than username and password logins.
- Future-proofing – Updating now ensures your integrations are ready for Snowflake’s roadmap and any further security enhancements.
What you need to do
- Review all active Snowflake connections in your integrations (for example NetSuite, Celigo, custom scripts).
- Update connections from Basic Authentication to Key-Pair Authentication.
- Test your integrations to confirm everything continues to run as expected.
Snowflake and Celigo have prepared step-by-step instructions to guide you through the migration.
